Olarm CONNECT

Datasheet

Olarm Connect circuit board with two blue cylindrical batteries attached.

Important

The Olarm CONNECT requires an Olarm HUB and an active subscription. You can purchase a subscription through your installer, alarm response company, or directly in the Olarm APP.

I/O support coming soon

Olarm CONNECT only supports serial integration with select OPTEX detectors. The ability to integrate with OPTEX detectors without serial ports and other 3rd party devices will be available in future via a firmware over-the-air update.

Integration with Optex Wireless Detectors Using Plug-in Connectors (coming soon)

Some Optex detectors deployed in the field do not include a dedicated serial port for wireless configuration or settings control via the Olarm APP. In these cases, Olarm CONNECT enables integration using Optex plug-in connectors that interface directly with the detector's internal connection points. These plug-in connectors allow Olarm CONNECT to supply power to the Optex detector and to monitor alarm and trouble signals, ensuring reliable operation within the Olarm system.

When to Use DC Power:

External DC power (5-30V) is recommended when:

  • Using I/O ports for automation (gates, sirens, lights)
  • Instant response required for commands. for example Door Open (no check-in delay)
  • Continuous operation is required without battery replacement concerns
  • High-traffic entry points with frequent activations

Battery-Only Mode:
When using battery-only power, Olarm ENTRY only receives commands from the HUB at regular intervals checks in with the HUB at regular intervals. This conserves battery life but means commands from the HUB may be delayed. For most security monitoring applications, this delay is acceptable. Please note zone activation and tamper alerts are sent to the HUB immediately.

Battery Safety: Keep new and used batteries away from children. Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.
